FAQS

LASH APPOINTMENTS, LAMINATIONS + WAXING

  • A lash lift is a treatment that lifts, curls, and tints your natural lashes to give them a longer, fuller, and more dramatic appearance without the need for extensions.

  • Lash lifts typically last 6-8 weeks, while lash extensions last around 3-4 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle. Both require maintenance to keep the look fresh.

  • A lash lift enhances your natural lashes by curling and tinting them, while lash extensions involve adding synthetic lashes to each of your natural lashes for a fuller look.

  • No, neither a lash lift nor lash extension application is painful. Some clients may feel a mild tingling or slight pressure during the process, but it should be comfortable overall.

  • For lash lifts, it’s best to avoid mascara for the first 24 hours to allow the lift to fully set. For lash extensions, we recommend avoiding mascara altogether. Mascara can affect the glue, is difficult to clean off, and can remain on the lash line, potentially corroding the glue during your refill. However, some clients choose to wear mascara at their own risk.

  • Brow lamination is a treatment that smooths and sets your brow hairs in place to create a fuller, more defined shape. Results last 6-8 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle.

  • For lash lifts and extensions, avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours, don’t use oil-based makeup removers, and avoid rubbing your eyes. For brow lamination, avoid wetting your brows for the first 24 hours and refrain from applying heavy makeup or oils.

  • Waxing typically lasts 3-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. The pain level varies but is generally mild, with discomfort decreasing over time, especially with regular waxing.

  • Yes, waxing is generally safe during pregnancy, but it’s always best to consult with your doctor first, especially if you have sensitive skin or other medical concerns.

  • Ensure your hair is long enough (about ¼ inch), exfoliate the area the day before, and avoid using lotions or oils on the skin right before your appointment.

  • The longevity of your cosmetic tattoo depends on factors such as your skin type, aftercare, lifestyle, and the tattoo method used. On average, it can last up to 5 years. Regular touch-ups may be needed to maintain the desired look.

  • After your cosmetic tattoo appointment, we recommend avoiding getting the area wet for the first 10 to 14 days to allow proper healing. This includes avoiding direct water exposure, such as in showers or pools. After this period, you can gently clean the area as instructed during your aftercare. We ask you avoid the gym or any thing that intals heavy sweating for up to 14 days. This is massive for infection control and colour retention.

  • You should avoid applying any skincare products (such as lotions, oils, or exfoliants) to the tattooed area for at least 10 to 14 days. After that, you can resume your usual routine, but we recommend being cautious around the tattooed area to ensure it heals properly, and holds its pigment through the years.

  • For the first 10 to 14 days, it’s best to avoid wearing makeup over the tattooed area. After healing, you can resume using makeup, but we recommend using gentle products that won’t irritate the area.

  • Most clients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. Numbing cream is applied to the area beforehand to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the session. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but many find the process manageable.

  • The initial session typically takes around 2 hours, which includes consultation, brow mapping, pigment selection, and the tattooing process. Follow-up appointments for perfecting or touch-ups usually take less time (around 1 hour).

  • During your consultation, we will discuss your preferences and skin type, and I’ll guide you through the different methods such as feather strokes, ombre, or powder brows. The best method for you will depend on your desired look and the condition of your skin.

  • Yes, most clients will require a follow-up perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks after the initial tattoo to refine the results. This session ensures the pigment is settling correctly and can address any areas that may need more attention.

  • Many people with sensitive skin or certain medical conditions can still get cosmetic tattoos. However, it’s important to disclose any skin conditions, medications, or health concerns during your consultation. A patch test may also be recommended to ensure there are no adverse reactions.

  • Before your appointment, avoid alcohol, caffeine (including green and black tea), ibuprofen 24 hours prior to your appointment, any retinol-based skincare for at least 7 days , as these can thin the skin or stimulate blood flow, which can affect the procedure, healing and colour retstion. Make sure your skin is clean and free of makeup, and follow any other pre-appointment instructions provided to ensure the best results.

  • It is generally not recommended to undergo cosmetic tattooing during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The reason is that the pigments used in cosmetic tattooing, as well as the numbing agents, may contain chemicals that could potentially be absorbed by the skin and enter the bloodstream, affecting both you and your baby. Additionally, the skin can be more sensitive during pregnancy, which could lead to an increased risk of irritation or complications. For these reasons, I do not personally offer cosmetic tattooing services to clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It’s always best to consult with your healthcare provider before undergoing any cosmetic procedures during this time.
